07-11-1989 - The first meeting of F.C.C. Sisters,
Dr.Udaya Mahadevan and Dr.Manjula Krishnaswamy, decide to start
a hospice for cancer patients later to be called Jeevodaya.

Registration of Jeevodaya Public Charitable Trust. Reg.No. 103/90.

15-08-1991
- First public function held at German hall, T.Nagar,
Chennai. The foundation stone blessed by His Grace Late. Casimir
Gnanadickam and leaders of all other religions like Hinduism,
Islam, Sikhism, Jainism and Buddhism. It was the first fund raising
program.

31-01-1992
- First cancer screening camp organized at Mathur village which
was inaugurated by Mrs.Sheela Priya I.A.S., the then District
Collector.

21-08-1992 - Laying
the foundation stone of Jeevodaya cancer hospice by Rev. Fr. Joy
Alappat, Chaplain, St.Thomas pastrol centre. Ayanavaram, Chennai
and attended by the core group.

26-04-1994 - Palliative
care introduced to the public of Chennai, at a function organized
at German hall, by Ms.Gilly Burn, representative of the WHO for
palliative care.

18-01-1995
- Workshop on Palliative care at Jeevodaya, Mathur, led
by Ms.Gilly Burn and Dr.Robert Twycross from the United Kingdom.

11-02-1995
- Admission of the first patient at Jeevodaya Hospice.

18-03-1995
- Formal blessing of Jeevodaya Hospice by the Bishop His Grace
Arul Das James of Chennai and Mar.James Pazhyattil of Irinjlakuda.

11-09-2002
- Inauguration of pain and palliative care clinic at Madras Medical
Mission Health clinic by Padmashree Dr.K.M.Cherian.

- Home care training for girls started.

- Inauguration of Jeevodaya Community Clinic by Thiru Syed Munir
